WESTWARD EXPANSION RESOURCES

Today you'll do a bit of research to help you prepare for writing.

Step 1: Pick one of the following topics: The Louisiana Purchase, The Pony Express, Lewis and Clark, The Oregon Trail, The Transcontinental Railroad, Native Americans, or the Erie Canal.

Step 2: Check out some websites for that topic. As you read look for what you think are the most important or most interesting facts.

Step 3: On a piece of notebook paper, write down the 3 most interesting facts. Be sure to also write down which website you got them from.

Step 4: Bring this information to school Friday. This will help you with your flash draft.
